He is my refined project proposal. Whilst a lot of this is currently the plan I fully expect there to be changes in my proposal as my work/process develops.

Yorkshire Tea: Presentation Board Peer Review 1
Today we had our first peer review for Studio Brief 2. Hollie was unable to make it in today, so I presented the boards by myself. I felt my verbal presentation of the boards improved on past Responsive presentations, with my wording being precise, informed and effective in explained where we planned to go with the project.
Our work was pretty well received, however there were varying viewpoints on different areas, it'll be up to Hollie and me to decided which advice is worth taking into account during the next phase of our development. Sophie W suggested a radical redesign of the Whippet mascot, whilst others said it worked pretty well. Zatul meanwhile informed up that some Muslims may be offended by the depiction a dog as it is considered a sacred animal to some. This was an interesting point, we never considered our work could offend someone so unintentionally and it is something Hollie and I will have to discuss further at some point.
Whilst both of these points were disheartening, the others of the group I presented to said that the work thus far was very effective and simply needed more development.

Applied Illustration: Project Proposal Outline
Project Rationale
What are you going to do? (Product, Range & Distribution)
I'm going to produce my own illustrated zine which will focus on the journey of a woman excluded from the world she knows due to her actions that question the patriarchy.
This zine could act as starting point where the characters are then included on products such as:
- Posters
- Digital Sites
- Tote Bags
- Screen Prints
- T-Shirts
What do I want to achieve?
From an illustrative point of view - I want to expand my knowledge of environments, character design. From a process point of view I want to spend more time working with digital illustration, however will incorporate analogue work for conceptual work, screen printing and mark making where appropriate.
What do I want to learn from it?
I want to develop a process that feels more natural to me.
Further my skills with processes such a digital drawing.
How to find a suitable target audience.

Yorkshire Tea: Idea Development
After giving it some thought Hollie and I decided that the Yorkshire Whippet would be a fantastic character. It is a dog, known for their loyalty - an important aspect we want to get across to the audience, and they are common within the Yorkshire area, thus tying it to the brand.
We both played around with design ideas; I used tea as a tool and later digital, whilst Hollie produced hers digitally immediately.
Here are Hollie's Designs:
We decided that Hollie's design ideas worked better so we so she chose to push further with the design of the dog. She had also made a rough design of the Yorkshire terrain in Photoshop. I liked it as it seemed fresher than the design made by Hutchinson, but wouldn't alien existing fans in my opinion.
With this in mind Hollie agreed to create the packaging illustration too, however this now left me in an awkward situation as I felt I had little to do within the project. We decided that I would focus on the actual packaging design, project board designs and management of the over all project.

Yorkshire Tea: Visual Research
Over the weekend, my girlfriend and I visited the Chevin Forest, just south of Otley. This was a trip initially not related to any college work, however, we discovered this view point where Otley, its surrounding areas, the Dales, and presumably part of Harrogate is visible.
It got me thinking about the design for the Yorkshire Tea packaging and Hutchinson's work. I like Hutchinson's illustrations depicting the Yorkshire countryside, but feel that it may be his work just doesn't appeal to a younger audience. Maybe something a bit more simple would suffice? Firstly I went about acquiring more images of the Yorkshire Countryside for reference.
These reminded me of Tolkien's Illustrations of Middle Earth, specifically these two images:

Visual Journal: Strong Women
As my ideas for this module have developed, I've decided that one theme I'm going to explore is strong women. I've decided that my brunette character known as 'Kate' will somewhat of a rebellious character, yet remaining somewhat immature whom I've based on the character of Juno from the film of the same name (2007) starring Ellen Page. Meanwhile the character of 'Red' will be a strong willed and emotionally stable person, similar to Elastigirl (Helen Parr) from the Disney/Pixar film, the Incredibles (2004). I've watched both of these films in my research of the characters. Other influences will come from characters such as Brienne of Tarth from Game of Thrones and Hester Prynne from the Scarlett Letter.

I also discovered this neat collection of images on Tumblr recently which displays an array of strong women from an array of films. I have begun using these images as a point of reference to draw from.
I sketched out a few of these strong women in my attempt to understand form better:

Yorkshire Tea: Initial Research
As we thought about Yorkshire Tea I broke down the brief in the hopes of helping us develop some initial ideas.
What are the 5 most important words in the brief?
Brew
Quirky
Loyal

What are the 5 most important considerations?
Don't alienate the current customers
Expand the brand
Explore different options
Set the brand apart
Make it more mainstream
5 related products
Biscuits
Tea jars
Sugar
Coffee
Cup

Hollie and I decided to take on the YCN Yorkshire Tea Brief with the main objective to make the brand more appealing to a younger audience (18-25 year olds). After a short discussion and some research we came to the conclusion that Yorkshire Tea suffers from a package design that looks somewhat old and doesn't immediately grab the attention of a younger audience. We also decided that Yorkshire Tea suffers in its lack of a mascot (unlike PG Tips with its Monkey and Tetley Tea with the Tea Folk). With these issues identified we decided that we would each do some initial research and concept work then get back to each other later in the week to decide what looks best and where to go from there.
I went home and began to look at the Yorkshire Tea packaging further. Initially I went on the Yorkshire Tea website, found here, before searching for the illustrations on the boxes pre-packaging.
As I was doing this search I also found a video of illustrator Andrew Hutchinson in which he details some of his process and methods. The video can be viewed here.

Yorkshire Tea: Problems, Resolutions and Contract
Today we discussed, problems and resolutions to these.
Our priorities are:
1. Having a quality end product.
2. Do not kill each other.
3. Share the workload equally.
4. Don't argue, compromise.
5. Realistic goals.
To make sure these issues don't arise/ are achieved we will:
1. Consider the work we are doing and try hard to complete it to an excellent standard.
2. Communicate civilly.
3. Decide on tasks and divide them up to the best of our abilities.
4. We will discuss our issues/suggestions calmly and be willing to compromise.
5. We will plan our goals - i.e. strategies.
We foresaw many problems such as:
1. Falling out.
2. Not doing enough work.
3. Failing to arrange structured meetings.
4. Deciding who exactly does what.
5. Failing to attend sessions/meetings.
To resolve these issues:
1. Talk about our feelings and I will buy Hollie chocolate.
2. We will make sure we do work out of respect of the other person.
3. Arrange a set day in which meetings will take place.
4. Discuss extensively early on who does what early one.
5. Make sure we attend all sessions and meetings out of respect for the other person.
Following on from this we produced our final contract to look back on should any of these issues arise:

Visual Journal: Adventure Time - The Art of OOO
I discovered today that the library has several copies of a fantastic book that I want: Adventure Time - The Art of OOO. After a quick glance it is frankly everything I could hope for (and is a funnily enough a good example of a visual journal)!
The book explores the history of Adventure Time from its conception and initial drawings, to it's current episodes and exploration of character development. I can't say enough about this book, and am learning so much from it.

Visual Journal: The Great Salt Lake and Initial Development.
I began today by reading The Great Salt Lake by Matt Taylor, a zine that despite its positive aspects, suffers to some degree too. Taylor, who works digitally, by drawing in Photoshop - tells the tale of a man lost at sea who is fighting for survival. The man is alone, resulting in very little dialogue. This is quite bad for the pacing of the zine as, although the work is visually appealing, there is little to keep you tied to any page for too long, which is unfortunate considering the calibre of illustrative work on display. The tale is also told in black and white which really subdues the work, I'm a fan of Matt Taylor largely because of his beautiful colour work, but that isn't present here. Understandably this is due to printing costs etc - but it does, sadly, affect the work. From a positive stand point, as mentioned - the illustrative quality is outstanding. Taylor has a great understanding of line and texture which is evident here. He also plays around with a few intangible ideas within the piece that really benefit the story. Anyway, less about Taylor, more about me.
I feel I made some headway in the Visual Journal brief today. I began by focusing on different types of line and how they can make textures, however without a theme I quickly became quite bogged down. I resolved this by using my lines to create an environment such as a woodland or ocean. I soon found that by finding environments to reference from the internet such as deserts, and lakes etc sped my work rate up even more so. I'm am not entirely happy with all of the pieces I made today, but I feel there are a few line techniques I can potentially take forward.

Responsive: Collaborative Practice
For Studio Brief 2 of Responsive I am collaborating with Hollie Smith who's work with interesting character design and mediums appeal to me. I feel that from a none creative standpoint we will work well together, hopefully some of our habits will rub off on each other.
Concerning the D&AD briefs, I don't really want to create work for a big business such as the BBC and Nationwide, whose ideology I don't necessarily agree with.
WWF
I am an environmentalist and believe that more needs to be done to raise awareness of the dangers facing our world. The brief itself sounds relatively simple - create a (max) 2 minute video of a series of 8 slides that will inspire a new generation, making them aware for the current issues facing the environment.
Vice
I quite enjoyed animation in the OUIL504 module and its something that I'd like the revisit at some point. Hollie also received positive feedback for her animation work in said module so I feel that we could produce something interesting from it.
i-D
Initially the i-D brief has caught my eye as it brings into question the idea of subcultures and whether they still exist in todays society. The deliverables are quite simple, asking for 3 static images. With such a small series out outcomes desired, more time can be spent creating high quality imagery.

Applied Illustration: Briefing and Initial Thoughts
So begins the next module of Level 5 and i'm quite excited! We've basically been given free reign with this module and it's really up to us to see where we go with it. This feels like the next step towards becoming a professional illustrator.
Throughout this module I want to develop further some ideas I was toying with over the summer. Specifically the idea of my zine called 'Red', which I discussed in the my Summer '14 blog post. I left that work behind at the time as I wasn't too sure what I wanted to do with the two characters I'd drawn. I feel this would be a great point to create some context for them and apply my illustrative skills to create something special.
It's important to note something that I hadn't really discusses in my Summer '14 blog post - one of the overarching points of the 'Red' narrative would be about female empowerment. The characters, both women, find themselves in a world where they have to be strong and fight for what they believe in. I suppose that my reasoning for pushing forward with this idea for OUIL505 is in part due to my recently finishing the Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
The Scarlet Letter details the story of Hester Prynne and her resolve when questioned on the father of her child by way of adultery. She is forced to wear a scarlet letter A so others are aware of her adultery. Through sheer willpower she pushes through the hate and becomes a strong power woman who many of the townspeople end up indebted to.

Applied Illustration: Character and Narrative
Ahead of tomorrows briefing I've given some time to think about where I want my Illustrative career to lead and I've decided that exploring the character and narrative pathway within this module would be my best option. I’ve found that since the beginning of Level 4, my strongest area of work has been with character and narrative and this is the logical choice for me to explore further. I’ve found that I’m influenced by many artists and illustrators that use these two creative disciplines, however for the purpose of this introductory post, I’ve scaled it down to ten examples.

Offlife #11: Final Outcome and Entry
Today I submitted my entry for Offline #11. I've put it off for sometime as, honestly, this is the first nation wide competition I've entered and was a little nervous. However I decided to stop being today and entered what I'd made. I honestly don't expect to win a place in Offlife #11 judging by the quality of what has come before, but this is the first Responsive piece that I've thoroughly enjoyed making from start to finish.

OUIL504: Self Evaluation
Throughout this brief I have learnt many things, most notably the basics in both Dragon Frame and Adobe After effects. Both of which have been played with to the point where I feel quite confident in my abilities to run them properly. I personally feel there is much more time to be spent with After Effects to grasp its full potential. Moving past the digital aspect, I feel that I have also learnt, or rather developed, much further my understanding of screen printing. I was initially hesitant to go back to to this process, and I feel this hampered me later on when several issues arose with my screens (as mentioned in Printed Pictures: Screen Issues). However I feel my outcome for Printed Pictures is much stronger than that of Visual Narrative (OUIL405) from last year where I created a concertina/zine of a similar fashion. I believe that with the addition of screen printing, my work has progressed to a more professional level aesthetically. I look forward to further developing my skills with screen printing.
Concerning my attitude towards screen printing, and my work ethic in general, I need to be more assertive. There were many points throughout this module where I found myself coasting because I felt as though I didn’t have a specific thing to aim for, or I couldn’t settle on an idea. I wasted so much of the early OUIL504 module wondering what to do that I didn’t actually do anything. It was only when I forced myself to sit down and play around that ideas finally started to develop.
I found this to be most prominent during the early stages of the Visual Journal and Printed Pictures briefs. I found that collage, a process of illustration that I first began to develop last year in Visual Language (OUIL404), really was a great source of fun and inspiration for me. It was my ability to look back and take stock of how effective my collage work was that really pushed my Moving Pictures Brief forward. Although I didn’t produce much hand made collage work for the brief I did create a digital collage of images directly inspired by my Visual Journal work.
Concerning my final outcome for the Moving Picture brief, there are several things I would change if I were to do it again. Most importantly, I would have a look at the pacing of the piece, which I feel is somewhat off, it could do with being tighter near the end and the title portion feels rather segregated from the rest of the animation.
The final outcome for my Printed Pictures Brief I have contradictory feelings for. Whilst the piece works as an ordered piece, designed in Adobe Illustrator. It is this same order that leaves me feeling cold when I look at it. The print doesn’t feel like there is any heart to it and I am finding myself more impressed with my previous screen prints seen here: (Printed Pictures: Screen Print Investigation). I feel that the disorder, whilst not representing Huxley’s ordered dystopia so much, visually looks like a more engaging piece of illustration.
Going forward I feel that I definitely want to bring more collage process into my work. This continues to be a strong area for me and I feel that with a bit more time, I could be onto something very effective. In the future I also need to bring more visual research into my work. I feel that, although there is research of different practitioners throughout my work, it is mostly within Printed Pictures. This benefited my work greatly and helped inspire me during some difficult spells of that brief. I feel that my animation could have been improved upon greatly with the inclusion of more research within the brief. I need to make sure I am researching as effectively throughout to help inform my practise as a whole. Finally, and I feel that this is most important - I need to begin to understand my own limitations. What I picture in my head is always going to be different to what I actually produce. If I set my standards too high then I’ll end up being disheartened with my work no matter how well it turns out.

A Visual Journal: Selected Extracts
Here are some Visual Journal pieces that I feel helped me fully realise my Moving/Printed Picture briefs.
Printed Pictures: London - After Ford Prints
Today I finished my prints and turned them into concertina zines. Looking at them I can appreciate the work that went into them, however - from an outside point of view I feel that the illustrations appear somewhat cold. This perhaps works well in the context of Huxley's Brave New World, but the uninformed onlooker most likely wouldn't understand this.
To combat the cold design I also made prints on different coloured paper stock, the most effective being a mango colour that evoked warmth. However after showing several of my peers, the white was deemed the preferable of the two stock choices. The white stock is also of a higher GSM so will hold up better in the long term, I realised this when I came to fold the pages and it gave great resistance.
I feel that my screen printing ability has greatly improved over the course of this module and am looking forward to continue working with this process in the future.

Printed Pictures: Revised Screens
With the issues involving my positives now resolved I went to prepare my screens this morning, however I was not prepared for what I found - one of my screens had been ruined in the drying cabinet. This was presumably done by someone putting an excess amount of emulsion on there screen and placing it above mine in the cabinet.
This set me back some time as I had to prepare a new screen, eventually I was ready to print. I managed to get the first two colours of my prints done before the end of the day and was quite happy with the outcomes thus far. I discovered that certain colours worked really well with the coloured stock I had chosen whilst others didn't.
On Monday I will print my final layers.

Propercorn: Presentation Board Peer Review 2
Today we reviewed each others presentation boards which displayed the work that people will be submitting to YCN. I felt this was a chance to improve on the poorly laid out presentation boards that I had created previously. My work received generally positive feedback but my main area of concern is spelling and grammar - it was pointed out there were several mistakes within the text. This is something I must be aware of when it comes to submitting as this will definitely hinder my chances of winning. Despite copying the text from a word processing document, somehow errors still occurred, I believe that getting someone to proofread my text beforehand will be integral.
Additionally there are a few things that I could add to make my boards more visually pleasing. I could add the brand logo to each page, conceive a more presentable way of displaying the Propercorn posters I've created and finally add small notes to important objects such as the mock up bus stop poster etc. These are all things that will help my work look more presentable and ultimately, more professional.
Concerning my work, I personally don't feel it has changed much since that last peer review, however I noticed that this appeared to be the case with most other people's work within the session. This is possibly due to how busy we've been with our other modules. I need to pull my socks up and get my work ready for the submission deadline. Finally, Kane suggested that whilst my work is funny and works, perhaps I shouldn't uses collage as a process and instead illustrate the stock images I've used on the bags with a pen and pencil etc.

Printed Pictures: Screen Issues
Today I exposed my screens. However, I encountered a huge issue - the line work on my screens was too small. The reason for this was because I chose to downsize my positives to A3 size to economise my screen use. This glaring error has set me back greatly.
To resolve this issue quickly I decided to remake my positives by selecting six parts of my previous design, making them lone images that loosely interconnect. These images if cut apart could also act as postcards or as framed singular illustrations.

Moving Pictures: Huxley's Hollywood Sound
With sound now added to my animation I feel it is now as complete as it can be considering the time I have remaining. I felt that the issue of the music being too upbeat wasn't too much of an problem once I had merged it with the animation as it created a contradiction of sorts to an effective degree.
Initial responses have been positive, however one person has described it as "less like a advertisement, more like a tv show opening". I'm not sure how to respond to the criticism at this point in time.

Moving Pictures: Music
I came across this music today whilst searching for 1930's music which I feel would work perfectly with my animation. However I feel that the upbeat music might not sit well with lower portion of my animation that should have a somewhat darker tone as it enters the impoverished section of the narrative. This is something I'll have to review whilst adding the music.

Moving Pictures: 356 Day Animation
I saw this today. It's an animation in which one second was drawn every day over the course of a year. I don't think stylistically this piece is very relevant to my plans but the use of sounds within the animation is inspiring and has given me something to think about.
Overall - a very interesting piece of work.

Moving Pictures: Initial Development
Using the same process I began with my rough animation I further developed my animation. I chose to desaturate the animation as it panned downwards in an attempt to give it a old fashioned movie feel. However I felt this wasn't enough so using self made textures I created a transparent gif image that would act as a grainy substance which appears when the screen turns grey.
The animation still has a lot of work to be done on it however, such as making the aspects of inequality more obvious. To do this I found stock images of impoverished 1930's people to stand at the base of the scrolling animation. Hopefully between the sprawling skyscrapers and the poor people this will create the sense of inequality apparent.
I feel that at this point the main issue remaining with my animation is the lack of sound. This is something I'm going to have to research further.

Printed Pictures: London - After Ford
Using Adobe Illustrator I have created an interpretation of Huxley's London, the year 2540 or A.F 632.
With order now existing within the line work I felt I was able to make the detail more experimental. Using digital collage I added self made textures to all of the buildings, some being manipulated further with halftones. Finally I introduced a stronger halftone element to the clouds and factory smoke reminiscent of Muradov's work. I just need to separate the layers to produce positives for screen printing.

Offlife #11 Narrative
Over the past few days I've been working on a narrative for Offlife Magazine. It is a relatively open brief, but must consist of a narrative from 1-4 pages. It can be about absolutely anything, which was what initially appealed to me. I developed a short tale about a girl jumping on a ledge into a lake to find complete silence. It was conceived as a piece that would rely on imagery more than text.
After sketching and inking my four page narrative I scanned the work in a coloured it digitally; I also tried including texture, playing with levels drastically and removing colour altogether. Ultimately I chose to stick with just the colour as this worked the best in my opinion. I also chose to remove the second page of the story as I felt it slowed the flow down and was easily the weakest of the four pages. It was also important to remember that just because I could use four pages didn't mean I had to.

Printed Pictures: Kristyna Baczynski
When I think about ordered illustration I think about Kristyna Baczinski's work. She has an extraordinary ability to create fantastic illustrations using straight lines. This possible comes from her background as a graphic designer.
I'm quite aware of my own abilities at this point and know I could never produce such lifework freehand, so I'm going to use Adobe Illustrator to help me illustrate a more ordered world.

Propercorn: Presentation Board Peer Review 1
Today we reviewed each others presentation boards. I was quite taken aback by how varied the boards were, with some being outstanding and others being... not so. I felt that my boards floated somewhere in the middle. I believe that I showed good research, and initial ideas within my boards, but my work needs to be developed further before the boards can be effective. I was also told that I need to narrow my focus of work. I'm trying to design a whole campaign when all I really need to do is redesign the packaging of Propercorn and consider the PoS side of things rather than invest too much time in them as I had suggested within the boards.
Delving deeper into the boards themselves I noticed during my presentation that there were certain issues concerning the layout and more importantly text; specifically - spelling mistakes, odd placing and varying font sizes. This is something to make note of in the future; I think that I should perhaps write out the text in a word processing document before transferring to Photoshop to prevent issues such as spelling and grammar mistakes from occurring.

Moving Pictures: Rough Animation
Here is a rough of the animation I have produced so far. There are many elements I haven't included yet, but the purpose of the piece was to gain a better understanding of the time frame within the advertisement.
I think perhaps the shot of the brick wall should linger more as I plan to have several impoverished characters there and I want allow the audience time to focus on them. The time allowed there will be supplemented from the amount of time Huxley's image is on screen as I feel this is somewhat longer than necessary.

Printed Pictures: Screen Print Investigation
In my attempt to create a screen print that takes advantage of colour I have produced this. I began by looking back at my SB1: Visual Journal work where I used collage of urban areas to an effective degree. Using textures that I have created using Quink and graphite, I worked in Photoshop to produce these positives.
Using these positives I headed to the screen print workshop where I spent time learning how to print effectively and experimented with different coloured paper stock.
As you can see my first attempt is quite offset compared to a later print where my skill had improved somewhat. The black and yellow paper stock also produced interesting outcomes in that the colours seem to suggest a different time of day. This may prove useful going forward.
My biggest complaint with the pieces is that they look so untidy. When I think about Brave New World, I think about how ordered and controlled that world is. I need to find a way for this to be represented within my work.

Printed Pictures: Ben Newman
I saw Ben Newman's screen print for NoBrow's Autumn/Winter 2014 book recently. I'm impressed with this print as he has only used two colours, yet manages to make effective use of them thus creating the illusion of more being used. Its inspired me to spend a day in Screen Print to investigate how I can produce a more effective image.
I realise that the Man in Suit piece that I made is definitely inadequate when it comes to colour overlay so I definitely need to produce something else to highlight this technique.

Illustration 1: Module Evaluation - Thus Far...
1. What skills have I developed through this brief
thus far?
I have learnt the basics in Dragon Frame and After Effects
to the point where I feel okay with my knowledge; however, due to my lack of
work with Moving Pictures at this point I can’t state that I am fully confident
with either.
2. What approaches to methods of image making have
you developed and how have they informed your development process?
Collage has played a large role in my Visual Journal,
despite this, and my planning to bring this across to Printed/Moving pictures,
this has yet to happen, thus hindered the quality/connectivity of my work. I
need to revise this.
3. What strengths can you identify in your work and
how have/will you capitalise on these?
My experimentation/investigation of media early on was
particularly strong and although it has waned somewhat it continues to be an
effective factor of my work thus far. This experimentation needs to inform my
final pieces more though, as has been stated in my peer review, there appears
to be a gap between my sketchbook work and my prints.
4. What weaknesses can you identify in your work
and how will you address these in the future?
The past few weeks have been tough due to personal issues,
which has been reflected in the quality of my work and attitude towards the
module. As I am learning to deal with these issues I must remind myself not to
let them interfere with my practice.
I need to stop dwelling on my work. If an image doesn’t work,
move on. Every piece of work that I make doesn’t have to be universally revered.
I’m still early into my career and can’t expect myself to be producing truly amazing
work at this point.
5. Identify 5 things that you will do differently from
this point and what do you expect to gain from doing these?
- - I need to bring collage back into my work, this
has continually been noted as a strong area of my work thus far and will help
improve the quality of it.
- - I need to bring more research into my work, I
still have plenty of time to research things to help me round off this module
and help me produce a better quality of work.
- - I can’t let my personal issues interfere with my
work. Everyone has problems and I need to get on with it. I can’t let my work be
victim to external issues.
- - I need to stop dwelling on my work. I need to
stop being afraid of doing work just in case it looks wrong. If something doesn’t
look right try to identify what is wrong with it and move on.
- - I need to understand my limitations. I have an
grand idea of what I want my work to look like, but I feel I’m setting the bar
too high and overstretching myself rather than focusing on making higher
quality work.

Printed Pictures: Soma Narrative Prints
My first attempt at screen printing the Soma concertina failed miserably. There are several reasons for this:
- I don't feel I made the most of the screen printing process. I haven't experimented with mixing the colours up enough in the positives.
- I didn't give much thought to the actual process of printing. I hadn't thought about the actual size of my print/screen which can be evidenced by the failure in printing well.
- Finally, my lack experience with the process. I need to work more with the screen printing process and develop my skills in this area, I could make fantastic positive work, but if I don't know how to print properly then the visual outcome will suffer for it.
To solve these problems I'm going to make another set of positives that will take advantage of the screen printing process. This in turn will allow me to experiment more and learn more about the process.

Moving Pictures: Animation Roll
After playing around in my sketchbook using stock images from the internet, I went about making a mock back ground image (or Animation Roll as I'll be calling it) using collage. After this I produced a digital version as seen below.
I plan on using After Effects to drag the image up, creating an effect similar to The Simpsons clip I have referenced. Once the image reaches the bottom the screen will turn to black and Huxley's face will appear with the title of the sting. I plan for the visual quality of the image to be smooth early on and gradually deteriorate as the animation gets lower.
