Mark Making and Tone (Continued...)

Today I continued on with my mark making by focusing on Dracula's eyes I used a selection of different methods to creature texture but my favourite has to be the use of Brush and Gel pens to create strong thick lines with simple hatching to create texture.

I then went back into the Christopher Lee Dracula image I had created last week; replicating the image and beginning to add colour and texture to it.

Whilst I like the use of red in the second image as it helps draw the viewers attention to two very focal points of the piece, the first piece in my opinion works better. The use of hatching here helps create texture and tone with an energy to the piece that makes it less static than the former.
